Footprint cafe/Bundanon

As part of this course we participated in a design camp at bundanon, part of Arthur Boyds properties on the south coast of NSW

We were asked to design a cafe model, which was both aesthetically and functionally fitting to the suroundings. It had to reflect the environment and be environmental. These models where then placed into a bigger model of the grounds of Bundanon, this was to get a feel for the cafe and see how it would fit in with the surrounding space and how it would interact with the environment.

The materials we used to create our footprint cafe, was foam core, we used a range of cardboard's, balsa wood, paint and felt.

My model interacted with the environment, through the design of the cafe. The feel of the cafe being open, spacious and relaxed like that of the country. My model was created to suite all seasons, the open roof allowing sunlight coming through all year round. Majority of the seating is outside would not work well in bad weather;like rain, hail.
