The design firm Dowling Duncan is proposing to redesign the dollar bills in a contemporary way, this is through the use of bright colours and the use of iconic symbols which are common icons of the American history.
This is the redesigned 50 dollar note, and the design represents the 50 states of America.

The one dollar bill is the 'Obama' bill. Obama being the 'modern' icon for America, and also the first black president of America. The one is also representative of Obama being in the number one position for leadership in America. The background colour is blue and is reflective of his nature, being a somewhat peaceful leader, whose interests are in the people, rather than the power. The bill has also been made in a portrait, this is a contemporary spin on the traditional landscape layout.
